My dear Henry
If I told you in my note that Lady C. <1> had seen Mrs Uppington it was a mistake for she has never been able to find her out & would be glad to hear of her direction. –
I am quite disappointed not to see any more of you and Constance <2> besides I wanted to know if you had shewn my Squill to Dr Lindley, <3> or found out its name for me? And Jane <4> and I are both very much dis.:ppointed not to see some of your beauty pictures and think ourselves very ill used as she cannot go to see them, that you did not bring some to see her – Mr Traherne <5> seems to have been quite delighted with those you shewed him –
I hope my little books arrived in time to be packed up for Lacock & that they will be approved of
I am your affate
Cos Mary
Now mind you answer my note and tell me if I have any chance of seeing you here again if I remain another month –
I remain your affate–
