Lacock Abbey

September the 19th

My dear Papa,

Did you get safe home last night, and were you very tired? We set out all the sugar plums for Mademoiselle Dutscheck <1> at tea yesterday. We wanted both to write to Mamma but as that was difficult it was settled that we should draw lots and I drew the longest piece of paper for you.

My dear Papa I remain your affectionate little girl.

Rosamond Talbot.

Notes:

1. Mlle Dutscheck, governess to WHFT’s children from July 1845 to March 1846. This reference indicates the 1845 date for this document.
