Bath May 4th
My dear Papa,
I think you will like to see this letter of Tilly’s. I should like to have it back, when you have all done with it. Mama has settled to go to Markeaton on Tuesday and to return on Friday, as Noel & Emily go home on Saturday, & Uncle Mundy prefers having Mama by herself, & had proposed to her to de lelay till the 20th, but that she thought too late as she wishes to be home next week, probably the fifteenth. We have heard nothing further from Aunt Caroline yet.
Tell Charles I will not forget to return Ecce Homo tomorrow, which is the day.
The Westeria is all but open, also the labernums, which are going to be splendid. The lilacs are beautiful, but I am afraid will soon be faded if this cold wind continues without rain.
Mr Murch seems to have the best chance – He is a local character, rich, and estimable it appears, & so I daresay would make a very good member.
Mama has been going to Midford Castle every day this week, but as she could not make up her mind early enough in the day, she never succeeded in finding a proper carriage disengaged when she sent for it!
Your affectionate daughter
Rosamond
