The fog is so thick and threatens snow tonight that we are uncertain about coming over tomorrow – In that case Alfred is to return here by 2•15 train, and would you please give him the 5th Vol. of Sismondi Républiques Italiennes, <1> to bring.

I am afraid you must find it very cold at Lacock.
