Bath

April 5 Marchth

My dear Papa,

We are all very glad to hear that Hooper thinks there is a chance of his being able to come back to us after a month’s rest and leave of absence; at any rate it is quite worth while to give it a trial, as he suits us well.

We are therefore immediately going to enquire for a temporary man to fill his place, and hope to be soon successful, so as to set him free as soon as possible after you come to Bath. Perhaps the feeling that this is arranged will help to raise his spirits & promote his recovery. I am glad to say neither of the boys caught cold yesterday, and they are now gone out for a walk together – A lucky bright day for the Easter holiday-makers. Jack is to have his photograph taken on Tuesday if we find Mrs Williams disengaged, but tomorrow she keeps holiday like everybody else.

Charles is going to Lacock tomorrow at half past ten, and thinks he may return on Thursday with you.

Your affectionate daughter

Rosamond
