4 Circus <1> – Bath
April 12th
My dear Papa,
As you do not find it convenient to come to Bath so soon, we must manage to keep Cox away from you as little as possible. I have therefore written to him (here enclosed) to try and get the footman to come on Friday night, or quite early on Saturday, that he may have all Saturday to instruct him. Sunday is a very bad day to begin. Cox could then return to you on Monday, and we hope you will be able to come and stay a week, as soon as your papers are finished. In fact your rooms at Lacock want cleaning shockingly, but one week will do for that. It is a little milder and less abominably disagreeable today though the wind is still north. Pickering <2> sent the 1st Vol of Records of the Past, <3> but as there is no sign of its being the 2nd Edition I took it back to him to keep until we heard from you. He says the publisher sent it to him as the 2nd edition and but that in fact he believes there is no second edition. Please let me know what to do about it.
Your affectionate daughter
Rosamond
