Dear Mr Talbot/

I have no solicitor & therefore hope you will think it sufficient if I desire Drummonds to forward the power of Attorney to you for your signature after it is signed by the other two Trustees

In the mean time I will forward my settlement to your lawyer that he may see that the terms of it placed the whole at my disposal on the death of my husband

One of the Trustees (Mr Ritchie) is in France but I got his consent when I was in Paris in Novr last & I have also Dr Allardyce’s. A little delay will be occasioned by the power of Attorney having to be sent to France, but I wish to avoid any expense beyond that & I understand it is quite unnecessary for me to employ a lawyer as Drummonds can transfer the money at once – Will you tell me if I shall send the settlement to Mr King your solicitor or would you like to see it yourself?

Believe me yrs truly
