My dear Henry

I was very sorry to miss seeing you yesterday & to perceive by your Card that you are soon going to leave town. I am extremely flattered & obliged by your sending me a copy of your “Legendary Tales” <1> which have afforded Mr Thackeray <2> & myself much pleasure in reading

Those in verse I admire particularly & I hope having broke the ice by appearing in print you will not suffer your pen to remain long idle.

Believe me always yrs most truly

M A: Thackeray

Henry Fox Talbot Esqr
31 Sackville St
