My dear Henry
I was at Lausanne from the 7th of October to the 21st it seems vry odd to me I should miss seeing Mrs Talbot for we were out a great deal walking about & at the Horticultural exhibition which lasted several days – often too in the market which is most picturesque – at the bookseller & the best draper’s shop which was full of English folk besides being at the french service at the Cathedral & it it <sic> Française & at the English Service then too – then we walked up to the <illeg> & in all the public promenades in short, we were always out when it did not rain & sometimes when it did – also we went to Ouchy & came up in the onmibus – our inn was a small one Hotel de Bellevue, but very nice & a lovely view from our high position – I went to Margam last Saturday on purpose to see Theodore his broken collar bone gives him great uneasiness but they say is going on well – he cannot use his right hand & is obliged to have his food cut for him – My brother & Emily started to-day I believe for Scotland & a bitter cold day it has been – Olive stays at Margam with her Mother – the others are coming back very soon as there is to be an inspection of volunteers at Margam that my brother must be present at –
Yours affly
Charlotte Traherne
don’t forget to come & see us if you can –
