My dear Henry
I am glad my packet of letters <1> are ready and it would have been nice to have sent them by Ela <2> to Penllergare, <3> whence I could have fetched them easily – but if you send them directed here to be left at St Fagans station I think they will come all right I shall be from home early in September but should be very glad to see Charles <4> here when I come back – I dare say the 10th or 11th Sept would suit me & I hope suit him – We have some fine days now but too hot for me to feel up to any exertions & I am very glad to have somebody to read to me while I work which is a very pleasant way of getting through the hot sunny afternoons – the nights & mornings have been wet more or less so we have hot-bed weather – I have Mr & Mrs H Johnstone <5> now & Miss Fitzgerald whose mother was a Grady – also a Glamorganshire friend Miss Edmondes – she is very musical and plays Beethoven much to my satisfaction – My garden is still infested with rabbits & mice so I have not much satisfaction there but the wood is very pleasant & pretty – Give my love to Mrs Talbot & Rosamon <6>d – I am just doing a sketch for my drawing club of “running water” we have had more than one of Reflections & lakes & sea. –
Yours affly
Charlotte L Traherne
