Dec. 10. 1846
Dear Talbot
I duly received the Copy of your work on Etymology which you were kind enough to send us. Pray accept my best thanks for the same. We have not had time t read it throughout – but have seen much that is novel & curious.
We came here to day from Newport – t’morr[ow] we go t[o] Bath for a flying visit – as we must be at home on Saturday. We hope that Mrs Talbot & some young folks are abt Lady Mary & Miss T. return to Penrice t’morrow Talbot is I hear in better spirits – but it will be a long time ere he gets over the sad visitation that has befallen him.
Charry begs her love t you all, and I remain, Yours sincerely
John M Traherne
