Dear Talbot

I am sorry to say that I am engaged to dine d with Mr Robinson on Thursday next which will deprive me of the pleasure which you were so good as to propose to my acceptance –

It would have given me great pleasure to have made Captain Fielding’s [sic] & Lady Elizabeth’s <1> acquaintance – I trust to you to express my regret at not being able to avail myself of this opportunity of doing so –

Believe me very truly yours
[illegible]

Saturday

Henry Talbot Esqr
31 Sackville Street
