Je suis tellement accablé d’occupations, qu’il m’a été impossible de trouver un moment de tems pour venir vous voir. Vous m’obligeriez beaucoup, si vous pouviez venir chez moi entre dix heures, et onze. Je vous ai preparé quelqu’autre plante qui vous fera plaisir. En attendant si vous desirez de planter dans le jardin de l’université les plantes dont vous m’avez parlé, vous pouvez les consigner à l’homme qui vous apportera ce billet, qui en aura soin. Si vous apportez quelqu’autres de vos cahiers de plantes seches, vous m’obbligerez <sic> beaucoup, et vous choisirez dans ma collection ce qui pourra vous faire plaisir.

I am so overwhelmed with work that it has been impossible for me to find a moment to come and see you. I will be much obliged if you could come and see me between ten and eleven o’clock. I have prepared another plant for you which you will like. And, if would like to sow the plants, about which you told me, in the University garden, you can entrust them to the man who brings this letter. He will take care of it. I will be much obliged if you bring some more of your albums of dried plants, and you can choose what you like from my collection.
