Dear Talbot.

Hoping that you will attend the Committee of the Black Dog roads – I have enclosed you a very brief statement of the objections I have to it –

They meet tomorrow at 12 o’clock. You will confer a very great favor on me if you will attend to it –

Believe me Yrs Very truly
George Vivian

1 That Mr Vivian is willing to take the amended line to be brought forward on the Committee by the Kennet & Avon Canal Company –

2 That the line proposed by the Black Dog Trustees uselessly & unnecessarily interferes with Mr Vivians place as a residence, upon which his father expended £50,000 & he himself several more.

3 That other lines will be shown, & Supported by Evidence, which will attain the same advantage for the public, as the line proposed by the Black Dog Trust, & that one of these, which does not vary much from the direction of their line of road, is equally commodious for the public, safer to the Canal, & far less injurious to Mr Vivian –
