Dummer House
Oct. 24. 54 –
My dear Sir,
I write to report to you that Charles is quite well and is also going on very satisfactorily, as far as spirits are concerned it is difficult to remember that he ever was so self-engrossed and shy, and as he was at one time, as he is now ready for any game and full of good humour to his companions – I can also give a good account of his lessons, as he works on very steadily and gets through his work with ease – I hope that you find him improved in his writing, and that he makes a good correspondent to his Mama and sisters –
He tells me that he believes that you have returned to Lacock, and I shall therefore address this to you there –
Mrs Williams desires to unite with myself in kind Compts to Mrs Talbot, and
I beg to remain Yours Truly
James A. Williams
