Saturday 24th Jany

My dear Henry

I received yr letter this Morning it having been 3 days coming the distance you went in 6 hours! on the other side Mr F. <1> has presented three several schemes to your imagination, quant à moi <2> I am only anxious to have <3> windows finished to prevent the ruinous look it now has. They say this frost is good for the country it may be desirable for the vegetable creation but it is detestable for the animal
