Florence
Decr 28th
My dear Henry,
My dear Henry this second was a mistake but it will do very well so never mind – It is quite certain that we shall not leave Florence till the 16th so you can best judge what to do – You cannot wish more heartily than I do that we were at Rome but I still continue so unwell that it would be folly to undertake the cold comfortless journey till I am better, we have agreed for our rooms here till the time I have mentioned – so it is not likely we shall move before. – This must be a mere “household letter” as you call it (for I am too headachy to hold a pen or set two ideas together <1> so for the present adieu
your affy
Jane H Nicholl
I will write a letter on the general state of things soon whenever I am in a fit state to do soÀ Monsieur
