Chippenham <1>
19th Sept. 1829
Dear Sir,
I have just received your letter of the 17th – and avail myself of your present address, so write a few lines respecting Inlands Farm – altho’ I am not yet prepared to submit the Proposals for your final decision –
I am glad to say that two or three of the offers which I have recd are from very respectable Farmers in the Neighbourhood – The one whom I most wish should be the Tenant, is gone to a large Fair at Reading, but I hope to see him again in a few days & if you will favor me with your address at the end of next Week, I shall be enabled by that time to send you all particulars – The offers from the Individuals above alluded to, will I think, ensure an increase of £50 – pr annum –
I am Dear Sir
yr much obliged Sert
W.H. Awdry
PS.I have heard to day, that Mrs Brindley <2> has decided upon remaining at Lacock for the present & has let the Place wch she <illegible deletion> lately purchased –
