We are favored with your letter <1> of yesterday’s date returning the Power of attorney for sale of your 3 p Ct Consols, <2> which shall be acted upon, immediately after the 5 January, if we hear nothing to the contrary.
We have stopped at the Bank, the note for £5 <3> – No 38878 – 12 Feby 1831, the charge for which is 2/6 – to the debit of your account; This circumstance will not prevent the note being paid at the Bank if it come through a respectable channel, but notice will be sent us when possible to ban the circulation.
