My Dear Talbot,

I shall be very happy to dine with you on Wednesday next – and if I hear from you in the meantime that Mrs Talbot <1> could find Mrs Poulett Scrope <2> an odd corner to dress in – she will have great pleasure in accompanying me, and return at night.<3> Our carriage is not so close as to warrant a drive of nine miles in it in a dinner-dress – If there would be any inconvenience in this, say nothing about, and I will come alone.

Your’s [sic] every truly
G. Poulett Scrope
