44 Queen Ann St <1>
Janry 23rd
Dear Sir
I send you herewith another pattern of lace, delineated in the same way <2> – If you like to take it to Glasgow with you, to show it to some of the manufacturers, pray do so, & let me have it again afterwards – <3>
Yours truly
H. F. Talbot
Notes:
1. 44 Queen Ann Street: London home of the Mundy family and a frequent base for WHFT.
2. By WHFT’s process of photogenic drawing.
3. See Doc. No: 03842 of 20 March 1839. The fact that WHFT wanted it back indicates just how few examples he had available at the start of the first public year of photography. Many were from his earliest work and the winter weather was especially gloomy in 1839, cutting him off from the sunlight essential to producing more.
