My Dear Constance

I have given Meredith the money for the wages & board wages –

I have not drawn out the £50 which You left in the Melksham bank, because I had enough without it. I propose to leave this on Tuesday & reach Edinb. on Wedny I have told Wilkins to pack a box of grapes – There were only 6 figs ripened this year – Capt. <Flutterberk?> The hero of Balaklava has married a young lady of Esher; Thus the 2 brothers have married 2 sisters, quite a family party. I hope you received my letter with the cheque. The weather is very warm. Capt Gladstone is going to build a chapel on Bowdon Hill entirely at his own expense I hope its architecture will be pleasing – He finds the distance of the Church from his residence a great inconvenience –

Adieu Your affte

Henry
