1. One of the four Inns of Court, the ‘colleges’ of barristers at the English Bar. Bolton had his chambers [lawyer’s offices and, at the time, living-quarters also] there.
2. Either Sir Joseph Copley (1762–1838), of Sprotborough Hall, Doncaster, who had been a friend of Rear Admiral Charles Feilding (1780–1837), Royal Navy; WHFT’s step-father; or his son, also Sir Joseph Copley, (1804–1883), who had been at school with Talbot [see Doc. No: 00681].
