Dear Sir,

I hope you received your Map and parcel containing the Deed relating to the right of fishing which I sent by your Tenant to-day. I have been requested to ask you if you would like your Son to accept a Commission in the Wilts Rifle Corps provided such an appointment would be agreeable to him; There is a Vacancy for a Lieutenant in the Melksham Company and I have reason to believe that he would be most acceptable to all parties –

Will you kindly tell me at your Convenience if you would like the subject to be mentioned to your Son, and how far you think he would be disposed to entertain the proposal –
