Oxford
Decr 2 1845
My dear Sir /
You will, I am sure, excuse the liberty I am taking in introducing to you my young friend Mr Story Maskelyne, <1> whose name and descent alone would operate in his favour in the eyes of a man of Science, & who during his residence in Oxford was one of my most zealous active Pupils in Chemistry, which he cultivated with much zeal without however neglecting other studies more directly academical
As he has lately been experimenting upon the chemical action of light he is naturally anxious to become known to you, and as his Fathers residence is in Wiltshire near Swindon he will I hope shortly have an opportunity of calling upon you
Believe me
dear Sir
Yrs faithfully
Charles Daubeny
