Sir
I have had the pleasure of receiving your letter of the 8th last. <1>
Our photographic Exhibition <2> will be Kept open till about the first week in April – We are not tyed down to any particular day – it depends somewhat upon the attendance –
There will be another ordinary Meeting of our Society on the 9th of April and the Annual General Meeting takes place on the 14th of May – I should be very happy indeed if you would also allow your engravings to be shewn at either or both of these Meetings –
I am Yr most tly

Notes:
1. This letter, accompanied by photoglyphic engravings has not been located.
2. Adam was the Secretary of the of the Photographic Society of Scotland at the time, and the exhibition referred to is probably the fifth exhibition of the Society, that began 2 February 1861 and ran until 6 April of the same year.
