Royal Observatory Greenwich
1839 Sep 24
Dear Sir
The star whose place (approximately) you gave to me at the end of 1835 or the beginning of 1836 was, I believe, inadvertently omitted in our observing lists for 1836, and was so much in the way of others which we desired to clear off that it was not observed in 1837. In 1838 it was observed: its mean place for 1838 Jan 1 is as follows
R 5h 47m 0s.91, annual variation + 33.668
NPD 65o. 47’. 54”.87, annual variation + 1o.136
The star is the same as Bode 412 Youric
I am dear Sir Your Faithful servant
