Edr Athm abt Dr Woods

By ye employt of bromine vapour an incalculable improvt. was made in the Dtype by Claudet & others but they did not thereupon change the name of the Dtype into anythg else- bromotype for example-

Would it h. been just to have done so, ? in consqce of that single change or improvement? I think not. Just so I sd tk that Dr W’s alteration of my Ctype process on paper, by ye introductn of i.i. as an accelrve agt did not justify him in changing my name

to the Editor of the Athenæum about Dr. Woods

By the employment of bromine vapour an incalculable improvement was made in the Daguerreotype by Claudet and others but they did not thereupon change the name of the Daguerreotype into anything else- bromotype for example-

Would it have been just to have done so, ? in consequence of that single change or improvement? I think not. Just so I should think that Dr. Wood’s alteration of my Calotype process on paper, by the introduction of the iodide of iron as an accelerative agent did not justify him in changing my name
