Dear Sir,
I can make a remittance of £400– on your Account – When I was at the Devizes Bank a short time ago one of the Firm asked me if I thought you were aware that you had overdrawn your Account <above?> £126. Shall I make a payment to them? I had notice of a meeting called by the Parish Surveyors of Lacock at the instance of the Railway Compy with a view to obtain the Consent of the Parish to diverting the Lane leading to Wick Farm. I consider this would be very injurious to your interests and accordingly objected to it – The Engineer is to furnish a Sketch of the alteration he wishes made – as soon as I get it I will send it to you if you shod be from home.
I am dear Sir Your obliged Servt
West Awdry.
