Bowden
½ pt 5. 9 Sepr 1846
Dear Sir,
I have prevailed on Mr H. Awdry <1> to accede to all your terms except as to the time for giving possession which he requires to be within 3 days after you have had notice of the deposit of the money & Exchange of Maps – and as to the compensation for any additional land which may be required to meet Engineering difficulties, (Clause 7) which he contends should be after the same date as the Referee may award for the other Land –
If you will concede these two points the matter is settled and the Agreements may be signed at once –
I cannot think you incur any risk in doing so though I have done my best to save you the trouble of thinking further of the matter.
I am Dear SirYour obliged Servt
West Awdry
