Chippenham <1>
25 April 1831
Sir
Having just heard that Mr Pusey <2> does not intend offering himself again for this Borough I lose no time in informing you that I shall have much pleasure in supporting you at the ensuing Election, which, for the reasons I have before explained to you I should not have felt myself at liberty to do consistently with the manner in which I supported him, at your request, on a former occasion – Allow me at the same time to express a hope that you will, in case of being elected, use you best exertions to get such alterations and modifications made in the present Plan of Reform as will more effectually tend to make Property the basis of Representation
Wishing you every success
I have the honor to be Sir
Your very obed Sert
West Awdry
