Dear Sir,
I have received £121– from Captn Gladstone <2> to pay for the Cottage & Garden at Bowden Hill (including £1– for ¼ Yrs Rent from Lady day to the present time) and have remitted the same to your Bankers Messrs Coutts <3>– as you desired – Mr Starkey <4> has promised to give me an answer about granting you a Lease of a strip of Land at Nethermore, next week, He seems to prefer this plan to an exchange – but I will let you know the result as soon as possible –
