Monkton <1>
June 16th
Dear Sir,
I thank you very much for your communication respecting your daughters marriage and sincerely wish the young Couple every happiness they can desire for themselves, Mrs West Awdry desires me also to join me in offering to Mrs Talbot <2> and yourself our cordial Congratulations on this interesting occasion. I regret that we did not know of your Kind intentions towards the aged poor at Lacock, earlier, as it would have given us both so much pleasure to have been present to witness their pleasure and if possible to contribute towards it – but it happens that we are engaged to drive out this Evening. I hope you have as fine a day in Edinburgh as we have here –
Believe me Yours truly & obliged
West Awdry
