I succeeded in getting a mixed Jury The trial was fully reported in the Times of the 28th or 29th March Unless a respite or reprieve arrives in the meantime he will be executed at Devizes on the 11th inst <1>

Notes:
1. Manzano was hanged at Devizes on 11 April 1860, before a crowd of 3 or 4000, the first execution in Devizes in 11 years. The 29 year old Spaniard had been convicted of the extraordinarily brutal murder of Mrs. Anastatia Trowbridge at Ashcombe on 3 November 1859.
