Chippenham <1>
29 July 1836
Dear Sir,
I have to apologize for not acknowledging the receipt of the Deeds earlier, but I expected to have been able to send the Agreement for your Signature yesterday – it did not however arrive here till the Afternoon – You will observe that Mr Finch extends the time for completing his purchase till Michaelmas tho’ his Solr expresses his anxiety to settle as much earlier as possible – He also requires the clause respecting the Title to remain, which I had omitted in the Draft Agreement If you will sign the Agreement and return it to me by the Bearer I will exchange it for that signed by Mr Finch, as I am going to Salisbury this Morning. I should have waited upon you personally but am obliged to attend the Board of Guardians –
I am Dear Sir Yours faithfully & obliged
West Awdry.
W. H. F. Talbot Esq
