Dear Sir,
I have paid £100· to your Acct at Coutts <2>’, who are the agents for your Bankers at Edinburgh, but I have not directed them to transmit it, not knowing whether you wish it, or not.
Pray thank Mrs Talbot <3> for kindly promising her Vote to young Alexander – I enclose two or three more Cards in case she can make use of them amongst her friends. If I hear of a footman likely to suit you I will not fail to let you know. I intend holding your Audit on the 28th and shall be happy to attend to your directions about the payments to your Bankers.
My Brother begs me to thank you very much for your permission to shoot at InWood <4> [sic] as usual
