Chippenham <1>
21 March 1862
Dear Sir,
I have remitted £100· to your Account at the Bank of Scotland Edinburgh – I paid £2· 10/- for the paper used for your Library and will ask Fortune what is his charge, and then make a Claim for any thing you think reasonable of the Insurance Co for the damage caused by the fire –
I have just received Notice of an Action to be tried next Week at our Assizes (by a Special Jury,) in which Mr Locke is Plaintiff and Messrs Sarl & Co <2> are Defendants – I do not know the Course of Action – but will give you full particulars if it comes to a trial,
I am Dear Sir yours obliged
West Awdry.
