Chippenham <1>

30 April 1866

Dear Sir,

I held your Audit at Lacock last Week, and have remitted £110ּ to Your Sons Account at Melksham <2>. I will tomorrow remit £400 to your Acct with the Bank of Scotland, Edinburgh – I am happy to say that none of your Tenants have been affected (directly) by the Cattle plague – There are 32 Oak Trees at Nethermore Wood <3> and about 6 or 8 at Wheelers Wood which might be advantageously cut this Season – Your Son marked some of them last Year and I have been round them all with Brinsden last week – as the Season is fast advancing I shod be glad to hear from you as Early as possible I calculate on their realizing about £300 –

I remain Dear Sir
Yours Obliged

West Awdry

H. F. Talbot Esq
