Dear Sir,

I have made your Return for Assessed Taxes agreeably with your last letter – I have remitted Messrs Coutts & Co <2> the further Sum of £510ּ which with 400ּ went to Edinburgh 110 to Melksham <3> & 80 – for ½ Yrs Intts on 4000 makes £1100ּ I hope your Cold is better – I have just been at Lacock where all is well.

I see Mr Gladstone <4> proposes to make a Sandwich of us, between Calne <5> & Malmesbury –
