Chippenham <1>

26 Feby 1840.

Dear Sir,

I find that Haddy <2> has not yet received the Livery for your Coach man – he begged me to enquire if there is the Hook attached to the Pole of Your Carriage which is necessary when used with four Horses – he promises to send his Horses to your House in good time Tuesday morning.

Notes:

1. Chippenham, Wiltshire: largest town near Lacock, 3 miles N.

2. Either of the brothers William Haddy, horse provider, Bath, and John Haddy, horse provider, Bath.

3. Hugh Nicolas Pearson (1767–1856), Dean of Salisbury from 1823 to 1846.
