Chippenham <1>
Thursday evg

Dear Sir,

I have seen Haddy <2> to-day – he seems to think that it would be too much for his Horses to take your Carriage up from Lacock to Salisbury on the day previous to the Assizes – he proposes to send them to Devizes on Tuesday, & to the Bustard (midway between Devizes & Salisbury) on the following Morning very early, to be in readiness on you arriving there to take you into Salisbury – but I think if you do not object to post from Lacock to Devizes early on Wednesday, that Haddy’s Horses might very well take you from thence, baiting at the Bustard.

Have not yet heard from Jones of the White Hart, Salisbury nor received a Report of the last County Meeting, but I hope to do so tomorrow.

I remain Dear Sir Your obliged Servt
West Awdry
