Dear Sir,

I have arranged with Mess^rs Sartain as to the Land at the Abbey by returning them half the Sum they paid, deducting 2/6 for the Locks w^ch their Man destroyed. They expressed clear regret at the conduct of their Servant whom they have discharged in consequence – they assured me that he had directions to apply to your Servant for the Key.

I have remitted Mess^rs Stillwell ^<2> for Lady Eliz^th Feilding ^<3> £300 & to Mess^rs Hughes & C^{o <4>} £300 – on your own Account
