[fragment}
Dear Sir,
I have been from home for the last two or three days or your Note would have received an Earlier Reply.
The Lease to Mr Bailey <1> of part of late Snozzell’s <2> premises was granted for 21 years and the Fine calculated accordingly – The Disbursements are only carried down to April 1840 with the exception of the two last remittances to Messrs Hughes & Co. <3> I had hoped to have found you at home when I left the Account at Abbey in order that I might have given you any Explanation respecting it – I have passed your Shrievalty Account and expect to receive your Quietus in a few days, I will then close your general Account to April last, and do myself the pleasure of waiting upon you with
Notes:
1. Possibly George Baily, listed as a tenant of Lacock in 1826.
2. Probably William Snozzell, listed as a tenant of Lacock in 1826.
3. Hughes Locke Olivier Saunders, Devizes.
