Chippenham <1>

15 Decr 1841

Dear Sir/

I presume the Devizes Paper of Thursday will contain a List of Subscriptions for the Bradford Poor – if so I will take care to forward it to you as you request.

I take this opportunity of letting you know what I have done with respect to your Farm at Lacock – I have had it valued by Mr Munday (the same person who sometime since valued Wick Farm) <2> who considers it worth £630. pr Ann: at wch sum I have no doubt of being able to let it to a Tenant of good Property and the highest Character without incurring the expence of advertizing, or the risk of a doubtful Tenant – The present Rent is about £500 – (£496) I think £630 would be a high Rent (upwards of 3Gns an acre) but the Land is of the first rate quality and lies well disposed for Cultivation – if you should be coming into the Country shortly I should be glad to have an opportunity of talking over the matter with you –

I remain Dear Sir
Your obliged Sert

West Awdry.

H. F. Talbot Esq
31 Sackville St
Piccadilly
London
