Chippenham <1>
29 Feb. 1844.
Dear Sir,
I am sorry to hear of your illness – it will be quite sufficient if you send a Medical Certificate to Mr Hodding on Tuesday next – I intended to have called on Tuesday but was engaged with a member of the Cottage Tenants till I thought it was too late, and I had nothing to communicate from Mr Collen <2> – I am happy to say this morning’s post has brought me the accompanying Letter from Mr Haslam,<3> acceding to your terms and I have therefore copied the Memorandum for your signature, and heartily join in Mr Haslams wish that “things may now go on comfortably –”
Hoping to hear you are better I am Dear Sir Yours obliged
West Awdry
H. F. Talbot Esqre
