Chippenham <1>

Decr 24h

Dear Sir /

I availed myself of your permission to increase the number of Loaves to Families – from 2 to 3 – which I thought, under the circumstances, you would prefer. – Phelps <2> readily undertook the distribution & having the former Lists by him, he was enabled to do it the easier – & I have every reason to think it was done as judiciously as on that occasion –

I beg leave to offer my sincere congratulations on the late happy Event <3> & remain

Dear Sir
yr much obliged Sert

W. H. Awdry
