Chippenham <1>
9th June 1834

Dear Sir/

I enclose a draft of the Agreement proposed for the Governor of the new Work House at Lacock – Moore <2> heard that you were expected at Lacock last Week, wch must be his apology for not writing – He is about to send a Copy of this Agreement to Mr Harman <3> & will be glad to hear your opinion upon it, when you have perused it –

I fully agree with you respecting the want of Arrangement at the Lacock meetings, but considering the uncertainty wch has hung so long over the Lackham <4> Property, it could not be expected that there should be much concert among the Tenants in that Quarter – however I am in hopes of brighter prospects being in store having heard to day, that Capt Rooke <5> has actually agreed for the purchase – & with a respectable resident Proprietor to cooperate with you – much may be done I trust –

I am Dear Sir/ Yr obliged Sert
W. H. Awdry
