Chippenham <1>

Dear Sir

I feel much obliged by your kindness in acquainting me with the late happy event <2> in your family –

Permit me to offer my very sincere congratulations upon the occasion & best wishes for Mrs Talbot’s <3> recovery–

I have communicated the good news to Mr Paley <4> & at the Abbey, where it appeared to give great pleasure I assure you –

Mr Paley would have written, but as I mentioned my intention of doing so, he requested me to say every thing proper for him upon the occasion –
