Chippenham <1>

15th Sept. 1825

Dear Sir/

I have the pleasure to inform you, that the Property at Melksham <2> has sold considerably beyond the estimate. – The Wood & the two peices <sic> of Land sold for £958 – I bought in the reversionary Interest in the Cottages, but expect to dispose of that also, in a few days, by private contract & I trust for more than enough to cover all expenses of the auction Valuations &c – I have recd £150 for Deposit money, out of which I propose paying the Auctioneers Account & to remit the balance to Messrs Hammerslys <3> The remainder of the Purchase Money is to be paid as soon as the conveyances are completed, which Mr King <4> hopes may be by the middle of October. –

As soon as I have settled all the Accounts, I will will write again & state the particulars, as well as the exact Balance which will be paid to your Account at Hammerslys –

I am Dear Sir
Yr Obliged humble Sert
