Chippenham <1>
26 May 1828

Dear Sir /

I find upon enquiry, that my remittance to Messrs Hammersleys <2> was ordered last Week & I therefore suppose it may have been paid after you heard from them on Saturday – as the London Bankers, I believe, settle with each other by a balance Cheque at night –

I have informed Hayward <3> that you would sell the small Rick & that you wished it to be removed – you do not mention whether I may let him have the Rubbish in the Yard – He is anxious to know when convenient – as the Ground is now fed down & fit to receive it –

I am Dear Sir Yr Obliged & Obedt Sert
W. H. Awdry

W. H. F. Talbot Esq
